Namgis Quarter horse facility

The main home of Namgis Quarter Horses sits in the gently rolling country west of San Antonio in the small town of Hondo, TX. A large covered arena is one of the main attractions, allowing us to continue training in the dead of Texas summer heat. This training location is primarily used for handling and training foals and yearlings but is also used for the riding horses. A fully outfitted veterinary lab onsite in the northwest corner of the arena allows the team to handle common injuries and broodmare checks safely and efficiently. This facility has a large pen and pasture configuration to suit the needs of the different ages of the horses. The back pastures are irrigated and are planted with a coastal bermuda grass hay, cut 3 times a year for horses, cows and sale.

the wilson Ranch

The Wilson division is a beautiful 2600 acre low-fenced working cattle ranch with a stocked 26 acre manmade bass fishing lake designed by a bass lake expert. It boasts a large, comfortable lodge with most of the comforts of home and an incredible dock with an outdoor kitchen where hunters and their families can spend time cooking, fishing and winding down from the day’s hunt. The back half of the Wilson is primarily native brush and is used for hunting whitetail deer and feral hogs.. The front half has irrigated pastures for wintering cow/calf pairs.

headquarters

Headquarters is home to another herd of Angus cows and is also where the ranch Angus bulls live. They free range in very large pastures for most of their lives. High-fenced and maintained by family, this property also boasts very large whitetail deer that Mr. Sigman enjoys sharing with his friends and family. There are several houses, a stocked bass fishing lake, a horse barn and an outdoor arena on the property, however, the recently remodeled lodge is the real showstopper. The house was originally built in 1865 out of rocks. The Sigmans wanted to maintain the integrity of the original rock house while updating it for modern life. The facade of the house is the original front and the foyer is the original house interior. This entryway opens up into a state of the art, brand new house that keeps the spirit of the original alive while making it a fantastic site to host friends and family. Updated pictures to come.
